Child-like Curiosity
Fall 2021
My design team and I had the opportunity to create a design proposal for our campus library. We wanted to ignite child-like curiosity in the sophisticated setting of higher education. Being presented with challenges of the identity of the library, stimulation, the flexibility of the space, and diverse seating postures, we tackled these challenges and created a library that supported the change from passive to active learning and provided variety of study space whether public or private with multiple seating arrangments while keeping the space stimulating and flexible. In doing this, we desired to keep the integrity of the current library through a similar color palette while marrying the playfulness and seriousness sides of science. I encourage you to climb back into your adolescents while wandering throughout the library.
My Contribution: Massing and concept, material/furniture/detail selection, process sketching, space planning , built the Revit model, furniture planning and placement, built Revit and AutoCAD models, lighting design, photoshopped views, and aided in presentation.
